Intercultural Training Programme

We will offer the three following training sessions:

  1. Intercultural Training
  2. Training for Trainers
  3. An Overview of Refugee Issues

1. Intercultural Training

The aim of this session is to help participants acquire the necessary understanding and awareness required to deal with the implications of living and working in a multi-ethnic society; With Ireland becoming increasingly a multi-ethnic society, this training session includes getting to grips with definitions of key terms and concepts. We will also explore some examples of good practice from various organisations in Ireland.

This training session is targeted at people susceptible to influence policy developments in their organisation. Indeed, it would imply adapting or revising existing policies or modifying certain practices, behaviour and ethos of the organisation.

2. Training for Trainers

The purpose of the Training for Trainers programme is to share our experience of delivering Intercultural Training with other trainers.

It is important to stress that we are not training individuals to become trainers, but we are providing existing trainers with tools to deliver Intercultural Training. While there are different approaches to Intercultural Training, there is a set of core principles that should inform such training.

3. An Overview of Refugee Issues

A workshop explaining on the rights and entitlements of refugees and asylum seekers, as well as the emotional, legal and technical hurdles they face.
